In addition, he holds a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from National University of Medical Sciences in Spain. Ernest strongly believes in the 4 principles of Osteopathy: Each body’s structure supports the body’s functions. If a structure is out of place, the body will not function at its best. The natural flow of the body’s fluids – lymphatic, vascular and neurological – must be preserved and maintained. The human body is the sum of its parts. Its physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive systems work in harmony. When the body has no restrictions, it has the inherent ability to heal itself. Ernest as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner identifies, assesses, and treats the body’s structures and rhythms using a gentle hands-on approach. This fundamental technique is called osteopathic palpation. Osteopathic palpation is what makes osteopathy different from other forms of therapy Ernest uses four major treatment techniques in his Osteopathy practice: Osteopathic Articular Technique: used to reduce muscle spasms near a joint, ease neurological irritations around a joint, make joints more mobile & reduces pain and discomfort Cranial-Sacral Therapy: This is the gentlest osteopathic technique and it requires the most experience to use effectively and wisely. The goal of CranioSacral Therapy technique is to adjust the body’s physiology by restoring balance to the circulation of the blood and other body fluids. Soft Tissue Therapy: used in many different ways. In general, he uses it to evaluate the condition of tissues and to help the body’s fluids (such as blood and lymphatic fluid) flow smoothly. Keeping fluids flowing smoothly reduces harmful fluid retention and makes the body’s immune system more effective. Visceral Manipulation: used to gently move the structures themselves and the fascia (connective tissue) that surrounds the structures to restore full movement of organs. Most patients treated with visceral manipulation feel the only gentle pressure of the osteopathic manual practitioner’s hand. But the corrections are powerful enough to improve the mobility of an organ, improve blood flow, and help the organ function more effectively. Ernest has a Professional Membership in the following Osteopathy Associations: Ontario Osteopathic & Alternative Medicine Association (OOAMA) National Manual Osteopathic Society (NMOS) Society of Osteopaths of Canada (SOC)

Deep Tissue Massage Therapy

How is Deep Tissue Massage different than regular massage wellness sessions? If you suffer from frequent tension headaches and back pains, you may benefit from a professional deep tissue neck massage. During a deep tissue massage wellness session, the massage therapist uses a stretching technique along with pressure to pull and stretch your muscles. This allows the muscles to relax and helps to relieve your headache and tension. The use of massage oil really does help usher in extra feeling and sensation. This helps reduce tension and stress in the muscle joints and help alleviate pain.

Difference between Relaxation Swedish, Deep Tissue and Therapeutic

By |July 28th, 2024|

What is the difference between Relaxation / Swedish massage and Deep Tissue / Therapeutic Massage? A Relaxation massage also known as Swedish massage is similar to spa-type massage. It comes with kneading techniques, and light to medium pressure during the session. Most often patients will go for one relaxation massage ones a month to maintain a healthy state of their body. Deep tissue or Therapeutic massages use more advanced techniques to help ease pain and address chronic health care issues. Patients who go for therapeutic massage typically have health-related symptoms that impact their daily lives. No symptoms can be 100% treated with only one therapeutic massage session. Patients are often asked to make a few frequent weekly massage wellness sessions and over time those treatments can be reduced as the patients are getting better.

How many Massage Treatments will I need? For any pain relief, we always recommend 5 to 8 massage wellness sessions back to back every week. We have noticed great results when our patients keep up with their sessions. Once the pain has been relieved, it is always a great idea to continue one massage treatment once a month. This will help to keep the body pain free and relax the entire body.
